"Let my prayer be set forth as incense before You, the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice." Psalm 141:2 "Hey, God..........." That's how my son starts his prayers - all of them. Whether we are praying over a meal, over a situation, or just praying as a family, that's his line as he enters into the presence of God. Recently I "corrected" him as we were praying over some serious situations. Apparently, I felt that serious prayer warranted a more formal salutation, and maybe even a more rigid and uncomfortable posture (as if God needs that in order to "hear" us clearer).
