Glimpses of Others’ Glimpses

by Rita Macdonald

So, I set out to write a book, filled with collections of other peoples’ glimpses of God, and in doing so………..    I get some more of my very own glimpses, PLUS, get taught a few things!

Here are only a few:

  • I always thought I was the only person on the planet who accepted Christ, and wandered for decades before deciding to FOLLOW Him.   Not true.   Turns out, not only is he persistent in His pursuit of our SOUL, He is also persistent in His pursuit of our ENTIRE hearts and lives.   And, there are many people who wait decades, just like me.
  • Every truly saved person has a “But God………..” moment.
  • God knows us.  He knows if you will listen to a song, if you will read a book, if you will watch a movie….   He knows our personalities, and He knows just exactly how to reach us.
  • God can still use you, even if you are in your 90’s!
  • God still performs miracles – Healings, deliverances, and even stops a hit man from killing someone!  (Yep – Now that one is a TEASER – You’ll have to read the book!)
  • Never judge anyone wearing a hajib – Just because they appear to be a Muslim, doesn’t mean that there is not an army of prayer warriors about to help change that person’s eternal destination.  Sometimes, that change is only a slice of pizza away!  (Yep – another teaser!)
  • God is in the business of healing illnesses (and also marriages!)
  • When you really surrender your LIFE to Christ, you had better buckle your spiritual seat belt!
  • God can use anyone to speak to someone, even a deaf, and mute little boy!
  • Actions really DO speak louder than words.  (Is your treatment of others reflecting Christ?)
  • I need to read Hal Lindsey’s “The Late Great Planet Earth!” since that book has helped to change the eternity of two close friends, and several others have mentioned it!

I’m not finished writing, God is not finished showing me glimpses or teaching me more about His character, and He is certainly not finished molding me in this whole process!   Thanks for letting me share a little bit of MY journey as I tie up the loose ends of this book and prepare to send it to the publisher!

Hello, I’m Rita.

Rita Louise MacDonald

I am a very imperfect follower of Jesus. Much of my journey in learning to follow Christ – as a single mother and now as an empty nester – has taken place at my kitchen table. I invite you to pull up a chair, enjoy the stories, maybe even collect a recipe or two!
